Election of new Secretary General

February 26, 2011- The Association of Senates, Shoora and Equivalent Councils in Africa and the Arab World, in its Conference of 25^th and 26^th February, 2011, held in Libreville, Gabon, elected Mr. Abdulwasie Yusuf Ali, from Ethiopia, as the Secretary General of the Association.

 Mr. Ali replaces Mr. Livinus Osuji, from Nigeria, who has completed his tenures as the first Secretary General of the Association. The tenures of the two Assistant Secretaries General- Mr. Mohamed Mohamed AlTayeb from yemen and Mr. Seydna Aly Ould Hanana from Mauritania were extended by one year.
